I'm an unusual one who actually has a strict preference for person first language, here are the reasons:

  • Autistic sounds too close to "artistic" and I'm both
  • I'm a demigirl (80% female, 20% nonbinary) meaning 0% male, and I want to remove autism from me as it primarily affects males and that's extremely distressing to me. QueenieAG (talk) 19:22, February 19, 2020 (UTC)

Autism affects females more than you reckon. You can't remove Autism. HKPH (talk) 10:13, February 20, 2020 (UTC)

Queenie, you need help. Autism is a part of you, and it's in your best interests to adjust to it. Wanting to get rid of it is a one way ticket to the funny farm. I'm serious. You can't just ignore it. People who ignore it have serious issues as a direct result - male or female. TLPG 07:27, February 24, 2020 (UTC)

Autism isn't a male thing. It just gets diagnosed later for females due to gender stereotypes. The gap between diagnosed males and females is closing up and it is now believed to affect both sexes equally.

Actually it's more to do with females being able to mask their symptoms better than males, thereby delaying or even avoiding diagnosis, than gender stereotypes. TLPG 12:00, August 20, 2020 (UTC)
