From April 1, 2021, these rules apply to this Fandom (updated July 5, 2024)
- The general rules are as follows;
- This Fandom uses identity first language. The use of person first language imputes that Autism is a disease which it is not (for instance "person with Autism" is too similar to "person with cancer").
- Autism and Autistic should be put with a capital A. If there are any that have been missed you are welcome as a member to correct that. Remember though that it should be in the content and not the links as it will break said links.
- All controversial claims need to have a source. This is an important aspect of this site. Sourcing doesn't have the same restrictions as Wikipedia as blogs, Facebook, Twitter and so forth are permitted.
- Please note that this does not apply to stories.
- With a few localised exceptions, spelling in British/Australian English is used on this Fandom. If an article is specifically about the United States or Canada however, American English should be used.
- Any form of trolling without breaking the rules otherwise is discouraged.
- In the case of violations of Rules 1.1, 1.2 (as in taking away the capitalisation) and 1.4 (changing the spelling when not appropriate) this will simply be reversed and no further action taken. The removal of a source under 1.3 shall be similarly acted on (unless the user notes in the edit summary correctly that the source no longer exists). Trolling under 1.5 will also be treated the same.
- However if the same user persists the process shall be a polite note, followed by a more formal warning if the note is ignored. If this doesn't work the user shall be blocked for two weeks. If this doesn't work a two month block will be implemented. If this still doesn't work - it will be considered a major disruption and an indefinite block will result.
- Any substantive changes to any existing articles by users need to be discussed before being added, even if sources are included. A failure to discuss will result in the changes being reversed and an automatic two week block will follow. The article concerned will go to admin only editing for a month to allow for the discussion.
- There are two exceptions to this rule, and the first is if an article is marked for deletion and a user feels it needs rescuing and has to edit substantively to do so.
- The second is if an article has been substantively vandalised.
- Please note that this rule is temporary and will be removed in the near future, and also does not apply to new articles.
- (An example of this rule at work can be seen on this talk page)
- This is a positive place. Articles about organisations and people who have done bad things in relation to Autism are not permitted. There is an article Unreliable sources that covers for this and that alone. The addition of articles that violate this rule will result in the deletion of the article and a one month block for the user. The article will also be salted to prevent re-creation. If the user adds another such article, said user will be considered a major disruption and be indefinitely blocked.
- It is not acceptable on this Fandom to treat anything as a joke to try and skip responsibility for content, as this undermines this site's positivity. Creating articles or adding content trying to achieve this aim will also be subject to this rule and it's penalties.
- Consistent with Rule 4, acts of hate speech against the Autistic community are not just inherently negative they are also regarded as an extreme violation of Rule 7.2 below. Examples include claims of environmental causation such as but not limited to vaccine inducement, gluten, Vitamin K, GMO's and so on. Put downs such as Autistic's are more likely to be violent or any other human trait in a negative manner are also deemed hate speech. Per Rule 7.2 below this is an indefinite block. (Note: Satire is not an exception to this rule)
- Any attempt to undermine the Autism diagnosis as important shall also be seen as hate speech. Examples include promoting Autism as making no difference to things like daily life, routines, stimming and special interests. Per Rule 7.2 below this is also an indefinite block.
- The following are the rules for user conduct per Fandom's Term's of Use - users here will not;
- Participate on this Fandom if they are under 16 years of age and reside in the state of California or the European Economic Area (EEA), or under 13 years of age otherwise;
- Abuse, harass, threaten or intimidate other Fandom users (on this Fandom this will attract a two week block, then a two month block and then an indefinite block - although the gravity of the offence may cause a two month block first then an indefinite block, or worse an automatic indefinite block);
- Post or transmit any content that is obscene, pornographic, abusive, offensive, profane, or otherwise violates any law or right of any third party, or content that contains homophobia, transphobia, ethnic slurs, religious intolerance, or encourages criminal conduct (on this Fandom this is an automatic indefinite block);
- Attempt to impersonate another user or person (on this Fandom this is an automatic indefinite block);
- Post any illegal or unauthorized content or use for any illegal or unauthorized purposes (on this Fandom this is an automatic indefinite block);
- Post or transmit any communication or solicitation designed or intended to obtain password, account, email address, or private information from any Fandom user (on this Wikia this is an automatic indefinite block);
- Post, upload, transmit, share, or store unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, solicitations, “spam”, or any other type of unauthorized solicitation (on this Fandom this will attract a two week block, then a two month block and then an indefinite block);
- Solicit personal information from any user under the age of 18 (on this Fandom this is an automatic indefinite block);
- Violate any laws in your jurisdiction (including but not limited to copyright laws and laws regarding online conduct and acceptable content) (on this Fandom the penalties will vary although stalking in particular will attract an indefinite block - this includes stalking by people known to the main admin of this Fandom off site [shall be noted in the blocking notes as Rule 7.9a]);
- Post advertisements or solicitations of business (on this Fandom this is an automatic indefinite block, unless it is related to Autism in which case the block will be per Rule 7.7)
- Blocks that are not indefinite can be appealed on your talk page here.
- If a user is blocked for any period, and attempts to circumvent this by creating a new account (this is called block evasion) the new account will be blocked indefinitely and the original account's penalty - if it wasn't already an indefinite block - will be extended to an indefinite block.
- These rules may be added to as the need may or may not arise.
